Jack Skellington Cut Out is a fun and spooky treat that your friends and family will love! Start with your favorite sugar cookie dough and cut out the shapes of your favorite characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Then decorate with store-bought frosting, gel coloring and even sprinkles!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Store-bought frosting
  • Gel coloring
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
  3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Place the cookies 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until bottom of cookies are golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Decorate the cooled cookies with frosting, gel coloring and sprinkles. Enjoy!
